What materials can you CNC machine?

Can you CNC machine from a 3D scan?

Yes. We regularly combine 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and CNC machining in a single workflow. We scan the original part, reconstruct it as a parametric CAD model, then machine the new part to spec. This is a common approach for legacy automotive components and discontinued industrial parts.

What is the difference between CNC machining and 3D printing?

CNC machining is subtractive — material is removed from a solid block. 3D printing is additive — material is built up layer by layer. CNC machining generally produces stronger, tighter-tolerance parts from a wider range of materials. 3D printing is faster and more cost-effective for complex geometries and low-volume prototypes. Many projects use both in sequence.

What tolerances can you achieve with CNC machining?

We achieve tolerances appropriate for the application and material. For precision components, we work to tight dimensional specifications reviewed during project scoping. Critical fitment parts are dimensionally verified after machining.
